Goofy: Walt Disney Best Comics
Published in Hardcover by Abbeville Press, Inc. (July, 1979)
Average review score:

Goofy might be dumb, but he is loyal!Goofy's early appearances and many of his tales as he co-starred with Mickey are well-reproduced here in this book.Goofy is a valuable help to Mickey Mouse in many adventures-and sometimes is actualy a true hero, solving things in a way that only Goofy could accomplish. The adventures that Floyd Gottfredson,Ted Osbourne,Merril de Merris and Dick Shaw(forget that pointless Walt Disney signautre stamped at the bottom right-hand corner)produced for Mickey and Goofy might well have been a partial inspiration to later animated cartoons of a similar small-and-smart hero with a tall-and-dumb sidekick.("Raskalnikov! Is Moose and Squirrel!")

Porsche: The Fine Art of the Sports Car
Published in Hardcover by Thunder Bay Press (October, 1990)
Average review score:

Mrs. Lewis has made some wonderful pictures here!Although I have the spanish version of this book purchased in my country (I was unable to buy it brand new over the net) I must say this is one of the best Porsche book in my collection. The book is huge and complicated to handle but once you put it on a table and see the wonderful pictures it has (never saw pictures that large indeed) you know Mrs. Lewis has a special gift to captivate the beauty of these cars. The text is interesting but basic and there's a lack of info about some models as noted by other reviewers. A good point is Auto Union reference.
Almost.......The book is VERY large & is mostly beautiful pictures spanning the Porsche history of classics from the earliest models to the Boxster...a little disappointed that: once again, a Porsche book that focuses a little too much on the 911. No 924 anything? & very little to say about the classic 928! However, the pictures are beautiful & there is some great insight into the history of arguably the greatest sports car ever. You will pick this book up for years & reflect on the beauty.
The fine art of the sports carOf the 35+ porsche related texts I own and collect this is one of my favorites. Excellent photos, quality printing and readable history on a wide variety of models.

Early American Pattern Glass

What smells? This book!THIS BOOK IS ALMOST ALL PHOTOS OF GOBLETS, VERY FEW PHOTOS OF ANYTHING ELSE,THE PHOTOS ARE POOR IN MANY EXAMPLES, THE PRICES SEEM VERY UNREAL. RUTH WEBB LEES HANDBOOK OF EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS PATTERNS IS MUCH MORE INFORMATIVE AND HAS BETTER PHOTOS IT WAS FIRST PUBLISHED IN THE THIRTIES. THE BEST NEW BOOK IVE FOUND ON PATTERN GLASS IS THE COLLECTORS ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PATTERN GLASS. BY MOLLIE HELEN MCCAIN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BUY MOLLIES BOOK, YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED WITH IT, AS I WAS WITH THIS ONE.
Pattern Glass Identification bookEarly American Pattern Glass is a reprint of Alice Hulett Metz's book first published in 1958 and considered by many to be the "bible" of pattern glass collecting. The Early American Pattern Glass Society contributed by forming a committee of eight experienced collectors and dealers to review and revise the content. The format and Metz's comments are intact, however, prices are updated and new information concerning the patterns are grouped together making the differences and similarities more apparent. There are 1500 identified patterns(more listed than in any other book) with 900 of these patterns photographed. Some of these are very slight variations of the patterns. For identification purposes, I found the book to be very helpful.
Authoritative, comprehensive, reliable guide and reference.Alice Hulett Metz's Early American Pattern Glass provides updated values along with black and white photos of about 1500 patterns. From uses and terminology to patterns and plate numbers, this is THE item of choice for any early glass collector.
